Procurement Manager

Description

We are one of the largest Steel Fabrication companies in Indonesia for heat exchangers, pressure vessels and other steel structures serving the oil & gas, power, petrochemical and hydrocarbon refining industries. We are looking for a Procurement Manager who will report to our company Managing Director. Supervisory responsibilities include supervision of procurement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategy for the business, quality assurance and problem resolution.
• Develops and directs procedures and methods to ensure adequate internal controls, maintain supplier relationships and maintain the integrity of the entire procurement cycle including meeting & maintaining quality standards.
• Provides procurement expertise in the areas of steel plates, specialty steel materials, pipes & pipe fittings, valves and vended products throughout the organization.
• Ensures delivery schedules are maintained, developing and driving cost-saving and improvement initiatives in conjunction with finance.
• Manages procurement budget.
• Manages order placement from inquiry to delivery.
• Manages document control.
• Recommends methods, materials and layouts for improvement based on manufacturing needs and capabilities.
• Builds, develops and manages buyer team capable of carrying out needed procurement initiatives.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience of procurement in a supervisory capacity. The ideal candidate will have previously been an engineer who has a recognized qualification (Degree) and who has latterly developed within the procurement function.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must execute procurement to meet company objectives.
• Knowledge of ASME Code pressure vessels.
• Must develop systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through orders.
• An ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2 year time span.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
• Technical skills in procurement management, quality assurance and costing.
• Employee training and development.
• Strong customer orientation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• High performance teams and a strong team player.

Work Environment:

• Most work performed in, but not limited to, an office setting.
• Protective equipment only necessary when visiting the shops or job sites.
