Technical Support (Field Service Engineer)
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Technical Support Engineer is primarily responsible for supporting field sales staff, distributor staff, and end-users in the application of company products of purifiers and diagnostics equipment. Additional support in field trials of products is also expected.. his support may be provided through direct consultation, laboratory based investigations, or field trials. A high level of coordinated involvement with sales staff is required.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Consultative Activities:
· Provision of technical information and advice related to use, service and maintenance of Pall purifiers/diagnostics equip, through all means of communication ie. telephone, fax, or email, in-person, seminar presentations, training courses for internal and external customers.
· Laboratory Based Activities:
· Investigations conducted personally or through the utilization of other SLS staff including
· Particle counting in hydraulic, lubrication and other fluids
· Manual ( microscope ), automatic particle counters
· Water content determination
· Oversee purifier and diagnostics including maintenance and calibration support
Field Based activities:
· Organise and implement the following activities, based on sales requirements:
· Demonstrate use of purifiers and diagnostics to customers
· Troubleshoot customers' purifiers and diagnostics equip.
· Assist in start-up and commissioning of these equip.
· Participate in field trials of filter system incl fluid monitoring
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from recognized tertiary institution with minimum GPA 3.00
· 2-3 years experience in Technical and Laboratory in Industrial Manufacturing is highly preferred
· Posses electrical skills and knowledge of PLC
· Excellent skills to read, analyze and interpret most complex documents, respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints, write speeches and article using original and innovativative techniques or style.
· Excellent skills to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations. Skills also extend to applying mathematical operation to such task as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analyses of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis
· Excellent skills to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
